Ann Curry

Ann Curry is a photojournalist, journalist and author who has covered areas of war for over 45 years. Her research focuses on the human suffering of disasters and human tragedy. Curry covered the conflicts that raged in Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo, and Central African Republic. Ann Curry, (born November 19 1956 Agana American journalist and television anchor and news reporter who is most famous for her job as a reporter on the Today program, which was a morning news program that was broadcast by the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry is known for her coverage of human-rights crises as well as natural disasters, especially in countries affected by conflict. Curry was the child of a U.S. Navy sailor and a Japanese woman. After World War II, her parents began to meet while her father was serving in Japan. Due to the military service of her father, the family has moved around quite a lot. Curry completed her high school studies within Ashland Oregon. When she graduated from University of Oregon, Curry obtained a bachelor's degree in journalism degree in 1978. In her youth she had the privilege of being exposed to diverse cultures. They frequently moved around, and Curry did not remain in the same school for over two years traveling to various places including San Diego Alameda Oregon and Virginia. Her final graduation was in Ashland the high school. In the role of an intern at KTVL Channel 10 Medford, Oregon she began her career in broadcasting. She became the first woman journalist at the station, when she was just 22. In the following years, she worked as an anchor/reporter for KGW located in Portland Oregon. She moved back to Los Angeles four years later working as a journalist at KCBS TV. The two Emmy Awards were won during her time with KCBS-TV.
